| Satoru was disappointed that his spell missed, however, as his kick struck solidly, his disappointment vanished even though it had been blocked. He finished easily, and came back into a left foot forwards stance, just in time to react to Anz's flurry of attacks.
He palmed aside the left leg kick with his right hand, ducking slightly below the first jab, and deflecting the following two as they came in with his left arm. The second kick caught his knee and drove it backwards, and using this to his advantage, Satoru changed stances, throwing his right arm out to deflect the punch he thought was coming. It never connected, however, and his eyes widened in shock as he was pulled forwards, straight into his opponent's roundhouse kick. He grunted in pain as the foot drove into his ribs, and quickly tried to regain his balance, pulling the tendril of energy that linked him to Anzai, and throwing a kick of his own, though it was not as powerful as he would have liked.
I definitely need to work on my unarmed combat. It is at an unacceptable level. |

| Anz felt a slight lurch forward as Satoru pulled on his kido, and watched as the kick flew towards him with no time to block he grabbed hold of the tendril from his kido leaning with the kick as it connected with his ribs. The pain flared up his body but it was only one hit and he had moved with it to reduce the damage. Using the added momentum of kick in connection with his own movements he pulled and flung with the kido tendril attempting to use the combined strength of both Satoru’s kick and his arms to propel his opponent forward cutting the bond of energy at the peak of momentum and tossing his enemy from him. The bakudo broke and Anz skidded back his side aching a bit from the blow.
With a friendly smile he resumed his stance making sure his opponent reached his feet (if the throw had worked) before moving forward. This time he took a more subtle approach he wanted to get more energy in the air, they were fast approaching the ambient reiatsu concentration he wanted in the air and he was almost giddy with anticipation. He shunpoed up and above his opponent to the right appearing with a roundhouse kick towards the back of his neck, upon contact he dropped low swinging a quick jab at the mans ribs before sliding back into his stance while a small meter appeared in his vision it was roughly 68% filled and when it hit a hundred he would stop the fight to take the first reading.
(OoC: sorry was a busy weekend, Happy Halloween!) |

| ((OOC: Sorry about the wait, only just got the time together to tap out an RP.))
His kick struck home, not causing much damage, but still, it was satisfying. He didn’t have much time to celebrate, however, as he was flung forwards, the kidô breaking as he was propelled away from Anzai. He skidded to a slightly less than graceful stop, and turned to face his opponent, regaining a left foot forwards stance, and bringing his guard up.
As Anzai moved forwards, so did Satoru, slowly advancing so as not to lose his balance and the strength of his position. As he did so, Anzai used a shunpo to appear just up and to Satoru’s right hand side, his roundhouse kick flashing towards the back of his neck, which he blocked just in time, protecting his neck, but leaving his side open, which Anzai was quick to take advantage of, driving a jab into Satoru’s ribs.
It struck in the same place as the earlier kick, and pain shot through his body as he stepped back away, keeping his eyes locked on Anzai’s. He could feel the reiatsu permeating the air.
He darted forwards, swinging a low left kick at Anzai’s own right leg, hoping to weaken any future strikes as he swung into another kick, this time with his right foot, aimed at the chest. As he returned from the kick, he stepped back, opening up some more distance, and giving him more time to react to the next attack.

| Anz watched as the first kick came, a short sweep with a radius easily predicted by PATCH, though this was a friendly spar and as such Anz had been using PATCH more to monitor the experiment then to monitor his opponent he couldn’t help but slide backwards out of the first kicks radius watching closely to the ambient reiatsu levels as it rose past the 75% mark. The second kick caught him square in the chest sending him tumbling back a few feet as he slid with the strength of the kick. With a quick staggered breath he recovered his breath glancing at the ambient reiatsu levels and seeing they had past 80%. The reading we’re strange he had anticipated something closer to a Morse potential curve however here it seemed the energy was curving exponentially rather then a flattening slope.
Shaking his head to refocus on the fight he spoke a friendly smile on his face. “Just a warning we’re approaching the reiatsu levels I need for my readings, I may call to have this fight stopped so I can check the readings. However, lets see if we can’t push this to completion quickly now.”
With a mischievous smile Anz settled into his stance, he had studied Satoru closely seen his tactics and assessed the patterns in both his defense and offense. It was interesting to note the man was definitely better with a sword then his fists, a severe disadvantage since Anz fought exclusively unarmed. However a quick heuristic algorithm run by PATCH had displayed the best technique to use for his next attack. Moving forward he released a quick burst of jabs, nothing fancy just a basic training exercise used by the academy one any shinigami would know, stomach, chest, face, stomach, face, chest. The simple combo was used to help shinigami’s learn to move their blocks up and down with their opponents’ movements however it was also a weakness as Anz had seen the reactions had become almost programmed in most academy students and graduates. The first four attacks followed the procedure exactly however as he made his punch towards the face for the second time he stopped short speaking gently “Sai”. The weak bakudo was one of the most underestimated spells in kido, though if it hit it would only pull his opponents hands behind his back for a second before the weak spell broke, it would leave him wide open to the follow through which he used immediately after… had this been a real fight he would have used byakurai and aimed for the throat but it was a spar so instead, he said:
”Hado one: Sho” his finger pointing down at his opponents solar plexes, concentrating the attack into a narrow beam. |

| Satoru smiled with satisfaction as his kick connected, driving Anzai back a few feet, and returning to his stance, listened to what he had to say.
“Just a warning we’re approaching the reiatsu levels I need for my readings, I may call to have this fight stopped so I can check the readings. However, lets see if we can’t push this to completion quickly now.” Satoru inclined his head politely, and replied. "That is quite alright, my friend. Please, do whatever you see fit."
As Anzai's next flurry of techniques came at him, Satoru settled into the muscle-memory that had come from repetetive training, and deflected the punches without thinking. However, as Anzai had planned, he anticipated too much, and as he went to block the fifth strike, his opponent bound him with a spell, locking his hands behind him with the most basic of bakudô. He struggled with the power for a second before it broke, which was just enough time for Anzai's second kidô to hit home, the spell striking Satoru's chest with painful force and precision, knocking the wind from him, and sending him to the ground.
Springing to his feet a little breathless, but not seriously harmed, Satoru used a shunpo to appear behind him and struck out at the back of the head with a fist, before throwing three punches at the man's kidneys and stepping away to open up some distance. |

| Anz felt his blow strike home, one of the two hado he used and knew sho was incredibly helpful in combat training situations, though he often replaced its use with Byakurai when he had openings in hand to hand combat. As Satoru hit the ground Anz stepped back, surprised by the mans rapid recovery he spun just in time to block the first strike to the back of his head however, his fist came in follow up at Anz’s kidneys and with little time to react all he was able to was duck low and bring his arms slightly reducing the damage of the attacks like a boxer pushed into a corner. As Satoru stepped back the meter read 100%.
“Ok the first reading is ready… please remain as still as possible while the sensors display and store the data.”
Anz stepped back using PATCH to command the sensor relays to begin the process, first a grid of green lines displayed across the area, a holographic projection of a three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system. Next small blobs of energy each the same color as Anz’s and Satoru’s respective reiatsu appeared where they had stood when the fight first began. The blobs moved displaying the fight at 100x speed purely in the form of energy showing the energy that was released with each attack creating a beautiful galaxy like pattern surrounding the two men. One by one like the fading stars of our universe the energy popped out as it’s signature position and origin was recorded into the database. Finally after only a minute or so the process was done and the grid disappeared.
“Reading one done, ill need one more to compare it to. Thanks again for the help my friend, we can begin again whenever you are ready… You can pick up your sword if you wish. My combat gloves are specially designed to fight against zanpakuto’s I’m not unarmed”
Anz settled back into his original defensive stance, if Satoru picked up his weapon Anz would put on his combat gloves, other then that he would wait patiently to begin the fight anew. |

| Satoru's attack was a satisfying success, and as he recovered from it, readying himself for Anzai's response, he smiled. Anzai, however, stepped back as well, and he spoke, creating a pause in the session.
"Ok the first reading is ready… Please remain as still as possible while the sensors display and store the data.” Satoru did as he was directed, standing perfectly still as his opponents sensors went to work. The effect of the equipment was quite beautiful in its appearance, and the efficiency of its process. The display soon vanished however, and they were left facing each other once more.
“Reading one done, I'll need one more to compare it to. Thanks again for the help my friend, we can begin again whenever you are ready... You can pick up your sword if you wish. My combat gloves are specially designed to fight against Zanpakutô - I’m not unarmed.” Satoru inclined his head, realised that his opponent wished him to retrieve his sword. His skill with a blade was formidable, and he hoped Anzai knew the gulf between his unarmed capability and his swordplay.
He walked swiftly to the side of the field, where his sword lay, and retrieved it, sliding the blood red sword through his obi sash. He returned to face Anzai, bowing, before drawing the silver blade smoothly from its scabbard. He stood relaxed, his sword held in his right hand, his left resting on the sheath.
"I am ready when you are." |
