Basic Information Name: Hikaru Ishida Age: 21 True Age: 21 Sex: Male Personality: Hikaru is very intelligent. Whenever he was in school, he would intimidate most people with a few words, forming an argument that forced many bullies to just strike at him. Those bullies would end up flat on their backs in a heartbeat with a quick example of Judo and Brazilian form Jiu Jitsu; Hikaru has been threatened with expulsion because he would break the limbs of the boys. Unlike his ancestor, Uryuu, from which he can be traced to directly, even after just under 1000 years, Hikaru is a very open person, keeping the stern face that Ishida members take, but he is a good listener and is wise before his time. Hikaru has no friends, preferring the solitude over being caught up in a large group. Many times, he can be found shooting at targets with a regular bow and set of arrows, keeping his aim sharp with heavier iron arrows from longer distances. His training means everything to him, having no ties to any people, whether man or woman. However, if he is in a group of acquaintances or allies, he is very friendly. Nothing is more important to him than his allies. Likes: Training, keeping the purity of the family line, reading Fears: Old age, being alone for the rest of his life, being unable to defend friends Character Appearance Height: 5'9 Weight: 125 lbs Physical Traits: | Spoiler: | | | |
Clothing: *Quincy "uniform" is depicted in the picture* Accessories: Hikaru's glasses use the transitional lenses that darken under the exposure of UV light.
Fighting Style
General Fighting Style: Hikaru is no different from any average Quincy, preferring ranged combat to close quarters. However, Hikaru has been trained to overcome the disadvantages of long range combat. He carries a short sword with him that seems to mirror the same output of energy as a Zanpakuto, even though it carries no spirit or spiritual force; the sword is an invention within the Ishida clan, following the deaths of Ryuuken and Uryuu, to make up for a Quincy's average lack of close range combat. Hikaru has mastered the use of this sword as well as the technique in using Seele Schneider.
Hikaru's constant push for intelligence over aggression leaves him open to quicker fatigue than most combatants. Although he can survive a close-quarters assault, he makes a hasty retreat to a safe distance where he can fire spiritual arrows again. He also can't afford to get in close himself, unless wielding Seele Schneider; he prefers to, if necessary, fight with the short sword. A finger loop in the sword's guard (as seen in the picture) allows him to dangle the sword from his pinky finger and launch arrows without any negative effects to his accuracy (thanks to practice and training with this technique). Strengths: Balance (in long, medium and short range), Swordsmanship, Defence, Speed/Hirenkyaku Weaknesses: Strength (strongest at long and medium ranges), Stamina

Back Drop
Background: Hikaru is currently a student in Canada, attending McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and registered in an engineering doctorate program. He chose this after graduation due to the low presence of Hollow, and spiritual energy, within the country. Although the expansion of spiritual warriors has allowed for a large army of Quincy and Advent Humans, Hikaru, as the "Light of the Ishida Clan", decided that it would be best for him to move away from the fighting and focus on education that would allow him to become a better fighter and a better scholar. He is also running away from the comparisons of him to ancestors Ryuuken and Uryuu; his family and other Quincy warriors, whether full-fledged or in training, continued to point out where his weaknesses were compared to them, and where he needed the most improvement. The pressure was too much to bear, and he found himself on a plane to Canada, where he was virtually an unknown.
As Hikaru grew up, he was groomed to be the next leader of the clan. His reiatsu was unlike that seen since, as was mentioned, Ryuuken and Uryuu. When he was old enough, he started training, toning his body and tuning his mind and spirit to the rigors he would be bound to endure as he got stronger and stronger and more would be expected of him. Sometimes Hikaru would use his Hirenkyaku to run from his training, only to be found high up in a tree reading a book. He was quickly disciplined, and quite harshly, before he was thrown back into the training required of him. As years went on, Hikaru became strong, and that was when the pressure got to its boiling point. Continuously bombarded with criticism and comparison, Hikaru fled Japan and his obligations to live as a full-time university student. Wherever or whenever he is needed by friends or required to kill Hollows, Hikaru broke the role of a student and returned to his role as a Quincy. This act makes him act more like Ryuuken than Uryuu, though his ability to deal with people around him is more Uryuu-ish. Side Notes: |
