| ((OOC: you can invite someone else if you want Jun, like backup i guess)
A tall rather handsomely man enters into a lit room. In the middle of the Room stood a stone table with two bottles of Red wine and two glasses on either side. The man strolled in fluidly. He wore black slacks, dark blue shirt, a red tie that hung abit loose, and a black nice jacket. To put it nicely, He looked absolutly Snazzy.
He took a seat on one side of the stone table and the stone doors behind shut after another ladie walked in, only one door was open now on the opposite side, and on that side awaited the other man to take part in this meeting. "heh, I appear to be early" he spoke smoothly, abit deep. French accent present in his voice. "I may as well Partake" He poured himself a fresh glass of wine and swished it in the glass abit, smelling the wine.

| (OOC: Rui would never do that unless you do too. Which from what Kuri said to me, you have given permission from Rena to join in. So Kuri's Takai is joining in too.)
A four foot ten blond kid with a lightning bolt shaped hairpin on the left side of his face/hair walked the halls of the Los Noches fortress. Most of it was rebuilt, but not all of it. The kid wore his black version of his typical outfit, ready to fight...or at least just in case. The doors opened for him as he and Takai walked through. His horsewoman of death. And she was most certainly Death personified.
"You must be Grand Chat, the man that replaced Hayato Hibiki. Funny how this works. You guys have changed hands twice while we only once. I wonder if that says something about the supposedly 'pure' arrancar. I'm sure you've heard of me, so I'm not going to bother with an introduction. What I am though, is annoyed. What is the purpose of this meeting?"
Annoyed was about right. The two sides never got along well. More than likely, this man would just end up as another enemy to look out for...unless circumstances called for a temporary truce. But so far, that hasn't happened. And doubted it would be. Between the zealots that he met along the way and this, he wasn't too pleased. But Rui Herutsu still held firm lock and key over his enormous amounts of energy reserves, where none of his power was leaking. |

| Helba had been following her new "King" even though it had been a meeting of Kings. Normally..she would keep her nose out of it and simply stay in the background..but she did not like the fact that the one whom ruled over her had changed not once..not twice..but a total of three times in her lifetime..where has the current hierarchy had only changed twice..she once served under the twin rule of Albel and Yukio..making this her third ruler change in history..So she had pestered Grand into allowing her to come. Being the ruler didn't scare Helba when it came to something she wanted..otherwise she would have never done so..
She already didn't like him. His manners were different from Hibiki's..and not even close to Albel's..who in her opinion had been the best of the arrancar kings..but she wasn't about to state that out loud..she wasn't that stupid. Most arrancar's were still just that..Arrancars..meaning an insult would cause an outburst..they weren't usually civilized even when they pretended to be..
Rui spoke and Helba listened as she stay'd behind Grand's chair to the left leaning her back against the wall. Both King's had their power in check which was usually a good sign..it ment there was a less likely chance for hostilities..but at this point..she wasn't even sure which king she would aid if a fight did occur. These constant changes hurt her own pride as a pure bred because it ment the chosen king's were far weaker than they originally led the followers to believe.
..Perhaps Rui was right when he spoke about the strength of the pure bred. No..Helba was proof of the opposite. She was not quite as strong as either of the King's..but she had proven herself against almost every opponent she ever fought except for two..one..she allowed to live simply to kill him later..which she did..and the other was a captain of the shinigami..and according to intelligence he died of those injuries later anyways even though he had technically still defeated her..
But in all of History..none of the kings except Yukio..had been known to lose a fight..Hayato's disappearance was being made to look as a death by an enemy..but they honestly didn't know what had happened to him..he simply..vanished.
"I don't believe that is a fair assessment Rui..Things have happened beyond the control of any arrancar..even you. It was nessicary to fill the gap in power as quickly as possible to avoid an all out civil war within our own ranks.. You understand."
She had purposely not called him king..he most likely knew why as well. When she was not by a comrade in the desert where Rui was watching a fight..she had given him proper respect..but she was not about to call HIM a king while the one who she is supposed to call king was sitting two feet infront of her..she just hoped neither king hit her for speaking during their meeting. She was strong..they were stronger..she'd survive but it'd hurt like hell. |

| Takai stepped into the meeting room right behind her King, Rui. She was loyal to the man, but only because he was the only steady Arrancar King lately and he knew that. That and he was the only King in her past Kings who saw her true potential and right to be Death. She was bred to be in her position and she was going to stay in this position. So now she followed Rui with loyalty, but if it came down to it would she really help him in a life or death situation? As long as she knew she wouldn't be killed because of it.
Takai had also been around since Yukio and Albel and every change within the ranks since. Yukio was her favorite by far, but him and Albel leaving caused a lot of problems within the Apocalypse. Her least favorite problem thus far has been the excessive change of power. Though she had never once felt she wanted to be King, the power changes have been infuriating indeed.
From the looks of it, the Arrancar that came with Grand Chat didn't seem particularly fond of either of the Kings either. Also, Takai new a pure bred when she saw one and this girl was definitely a pure bred. Takai's special eyesight allowed her to see a lot of different things, though she didn't need it to tell how that there was a growing dislike for the change of powers as well.
The girl adjusted her black hooded robe and leaned on her scythe as she stared at the group. She was only a few steps behind Rui and she was ready to defend herself if it came to that, though she didn't look it. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that though. The pure bred was just as strong as she was and the two Kings were stronger than both of them. It would be a devastating fight and she wouldn't want to be apart of it, even though she was sure she could make it through.
"Excuse my mouth, but I believe we should get to the chase. I dislike this room and I am uncomfortable with the tension." As she said this, her lips moved but no one would tell because of her skull hollow mask. Her voice was cold and emotionless, as if she were truly death personified. Her hidden eyes went immediately back to watching the pure bred with curiosity. She wished to meet her without the tension, even though she "followed" Grand. |

| ((OOC: Rena told me about how Helba knew Rui, so i figured it would be more of a comfort))
Grand took a small sip of his wine. “Why good afternoon Rui Herutsu, I figured as two...leaders of the arrancars..” he gave a nod at the following female noticing her presence and smiled benevolently. Grand choose his words wisely, he has heard of Rui's hatred from words of arrogance, and decided it would be beneficial to appeal to his side. “It would be appropriate for a little 'Introduction' to be called. I would like to see the side of view from the other point, as you will." Grands French accent wasn't thick enough to misinterpret as a curtesy, he as well kept his power to bare minimun. He would play Humble for now, in order to gain an ally. Even though it would be one of the hardest to get. From the look of things, Rui was right. The other side was doing a whole lot better than his own. “I am very new to this concept of the two 'kings' in the arrancar Hierarchy, I never much payed attention to both sides view. One of the reasons why I brought a veteran member here.” he motions his hand at the lady who followed, and paused for awhile while she introduced herself, even thought she stated that they do know each other, the reason he brought her in the first place. Grand then nodded at the remark from the girl following Rui.
Grand took another sip of his wine. “in all honesty, I don't take so much pride in a 'pure' heritage as most of the members in my little group. I'm a bit more looking into safety for my followers, and I don't intend to force my opinions down their throat, as I don't intend to swallow their extremism.” Again, Grand had to choose words wisely, in his words were truth spoken, but he still watched the way he spoke them. He had heard the past leaders always end up as enemy's, mostly between one of his and Rui. He hoped this time would change, possible an alliance of some sort. “I ask that we may converse, and a possible Truce at the end if things go well on both ends. I wish not to continue tension between us as much as there has been for years, this is a time of change, a time to change futures and rewrite history's.” he set his half full wine glass down. And awaited a reply. |

| Rui snorted at Helba's comment. "If your leaders were stronger, they would have stayed. That is in their control. So my assessment is not wrong. Though I do understand finding an appropriate leader as soon as possible..." Besides, Rui has stayed away for a long time. He didn't exactly want to be king, but with his mass number of supporters, both zealots that worship him as a god, despite the fact he hated that nickname with a passion, and those that just respect the kid's power and age, he really didn't have much choice after Albel left. He was there with Albel and Yukio. Yet he mostly stayed with Albel. Much more calm. The only reason he was even with them was because he wanted to learn to be more hollow...
He listened to Grand. "I know Helba. Briefly. By the way, Jeff Andrews is still with us. Though I appreciate the attempt to stop him. Words are sometimes more convincing than action. He just needs to learn when to be arrogant around who...moving on..." Rui moved to sit across from his counter part, arms crossed. But what troubled him was that his chin was barely above the table...the damn thing was raised! Sighing, he went to the nearby closet and grabbed some pillows...why they were in there he had no clue...someone needs to have a chat with the people reconstructing the place. Now that he sat down, with the pillows underneath him, the table was at least chest high on him now.
He listened to Grand talk. A French accent and the man was at least not an extremist and seemed reasonable. But he was picking his words. Rui knew. He was an observer and have seen politicians do the same things. He was immediately aware this man was a sly one. Like Reno, he definately needed to keep a close eye on him. As his counter part finished, Rui closed his eyes in thought, resting his elbows on the table, since he could now, and intertwined his fingers. After about five minutes of thought, he opened them. His crimson eyes looked straight into Grand's.
"A truce is a long way to go. The disagreements from our predicessors were strong enough to separate and split. But a full-scale war never broke out. There will always be extremists on both ends that will try to destroy each other. That will prevent a true peace and alliance between us. It's good that you are willing to listen to both sides. But my views are rather clear. We could use all the fighting power we could get our hands on. I see no difference between pure arrancar and made in terms of power. We even have a traitor shinigami in our ranks. A little unstable, but could be very useful. The only truce I can see happening is for joint operations with our mutual allies, the hinrichten. Unless there is something more you can say or offer." Now it was Rui's turn to wait for a reply... |

| Helba listened to the two kings speak..only moving to nod as Rui spoke of knowing her and explained that the traitorous whelp had been converted back to a stupid yet useful follower that could be used as cannon fodder during a war. Other than that..neither had said anything that actually required her attention..and she started to allow her mind to wander a bit as she started trying to remember bits of her past..it was still heavily fragmented and scattered..but she remembered a few key things..which is mostly how her personality had changed over time..from what she was like in the beginning.
She noticed the girl following Rui had been staring at her..this was annoying..but she could guess why. It was obvious Helba held no love for her king. She didn't have a reason too. As old as they were..they had never met before recently..and thus no loyal bonds had been created by any means. She followed because he was stronger. That was about as far as it went.
She remained silent and thinking to herself at this point..only speaking when spoken too..otherwise keeping out of it. She was in case something bad happened.. nothing more or less in her own view of the situation..regardless of what Grand had planned when he decided to allow her to come with him.
She just hoped this wouldn't end in a brawl. |

| The conversations continued between the two "Kings" and it started quite bluntly from Grand. An alliance was proposed and she, quite frankly, agreed with Rui. There were way too many extremists in their midst for the Arrancars to completely work together. There are always going to be problems between the two sects and Takai believed they were never going to be solved because two people said so. If they declared peace, there were going to be rebellions and all out anarchy. That's the way it worked.
Of course, Takai paid attention to the weaker Arrancars, though it was only because she wanted to know who could possibly challenge her later. Or cause problems. She didn't like that so she knew much more about them and their powers before hand, an easier kill that way. Among her times watching the weaker Arrancars, she realized that they didn't want peace between the two groups. It would've happened by now. You can't change an Extremists views by saying not to believe them. Doesn't work that way.
Even though she realized all of this, she didn't speak her views. If the Kings wanted to cause chaos, then let them do so. If they choose to be ignorant, then perhaps someone more worthy of their title will appear later on. Someone worth following to the death. However, it was their choice and not hers so for now she will follow Rui and fight for him. Silent til' the end... Cold as Death itself. |

| “Now Rui..” Grand responded. “There are a lot of extremists, but those who look at our...hierarchy see it as if America lost its civil war. We are split in two, with many extremists, and yes it will continue, but I hope that like America, it will fade and we will all live in civility. What I have to offer is Unity, the chance to bring the arrancars to what they once were, and maybe put an end to the 'hunting' of our species, the shinigami take us down cause we want to eat and not die. And we take each other down cause of our past. I believe we should form back together, under the both of us we can slowly mix the breeds together, make it so being pure or not is like being black or white in todays world.” Grand took a small breath. He had been thinking this on his statement for awhile. Even though being on the 'pure' side. He figured it would be more advantageous. Convincing one that already accepts his own. If he was on the other side, it would be much harder to unify them. |

| Rui had to suppress a chuckle. He took off his sword from his back and placed it on the table to lean back comfortably. "Funny you should mention a country I took great interest in for the longest time. But there are a few things wrong with using that one. Did you know there is still discrimination and animosity in the southern states? Even today in 3111? Their civil war ended in 1864. For 1,247 years that hatred has stuck root into those states. Even past the civil rights movements of the 1960s. Look at America's problems fighting terrorism as well. You kill one major leader, yeah you split them up, but each cell still needs to be completely destroyed before the threat is ever truly gone. One always survives and makes martyrs of those that have fallen. It will take far too long for those animosities to die, longer than the United States'. And like them, we can't always find every extremist and take them down, even with my highly advanced Pesquisa. We don't have the time to assimilate.
In addition, what you are also asking for is trust. Trust must be earned. Kind of hard to trust someone who tries to sugercoat their words and try to be politically neutral. Yes, I've noticed, you've been picking your words rather carefully. I may be annoyed at the moment, but I'm not irrational or illogical, there is no need to do that. We can't kill all of the extremists, assimilation will take far too long, even if and after a war breaks out, and can we even trust you to make do on your word? Full blown war hasn't happened yet. Our big players are loyal and will only attack all out if I say so. What about your big players? Will they do the same? By the way, aren't we more like the Union and your side more like the Confederacy? Just curious on that one...we have both made arrancar and pure breeds. And all treated the same." There. He said it. You're untrustworthy. Time constraints. And military action will never fully work.
Let's see how this man swallows that... |

| Helba was almost irritated that her king was trying to take the other king as a fool..using sweet words to try and lull Rui into friendship..but as expected the other king did not get drawn in so easily by Grand's words. She was willing to supress her naturally short fused anger over that matter however..and continued to simply mind her own business while staying at the ready in case of a battle.
Thats when Rui did something that Helba could not ignore. He doubted the loyalty of those who follow Grand. Which means she herself was being the indirect target of an insult. Her short fuse came to fruition at this point and she couldn't stop herself as she spoke in a slightly angry...but calm manner.
"Those who follow the king of pure breeds will do so no matter who it is.. Are loyalty is no less than any of those who follow you. Do not forget that in the end even we, the hollow, have a sense of pride once we acsend enough to not be mindless animals."
She didn't even care at this point if the other king..or her own..found her small outburst to be irritating. She was going to stick by what she just said. Those who follow are loyal til death..even beyond. Very few would even have a fleeting thought of betrayal. |

| Takai grinned lightly behind her skull like mask, creepily mimicking the grin of the skull. All three of these Arrancar amused her, though she would never openly show or say it. Grand found it necessary to sugar coat all of his words, thinking that his infamous silver tongue would do the work for him. Her "king", Rui, spoke of hatred and discriminating. Something she had moments before thought about and didn't speak up. Now he got the credit of being smart. Now, because he questioned loyalty the female across from her threw a little temper tantrum. This all amused her greatly.
She could see where Helba came from though, her loyalty and pride was in question so she defended it. Wouldn't Takai do the exact same thing if placed in that same situation? Of course, any Arrancar would. The only difference was that Takai wouldn't have complained openly about it. She was the one who fumed until her boiling point and merely killed the person whom offended... After a certain tolerance level was reached of course.
"I doubt any of the pure breeds wouldn't have a sense of pride. All Arrancar do, however, you are also suggesting that not a single one on your side as had doubts? Don't be so naive. No one wants to fight to the death without knowing for sure that their leader isn't a 'mindless animal'. I guarantee members from both sides of this little 'American Civil War' has members who don't give a shit either and will attack. There are absolutely no positives about everyone following mindlessly."
The Arrancar spoke, yet again, coldly and emotionlessly. Her eyes watched the group closely, especially those on the other side. Rui had placed his sword off of his person and that was a dangerous place to be. He was powerful, but Grand was equal and Takai and Helba could possibly get to him before he could defend himself. Thus, her hand tightened on her scythe... especially since she was no waiting response to her voiced opinions. |

Grand paused until after Rui and Helba finished talking. Maybe it would have been better to come to this alone. He then smiled over at Takai. He wasn't entirely sure who on his side had what plans but now he would remember to give more thought. Without looking behind at Helba. “thank you Helba” Grand was happy to have some reassurance that he did have supporter's. Even thought doubt was inevitable for some actions a king may commit.
“'A man may have to lower himself to gain friends' an old friend once told me that Rui, sometimes for first meets, a man must appeal to the others personality, to avoid much conflict. This meeting can end in four ways. An alliance, a treaty, nothing at all, or a full scale war. Words are what decided this meetings end, and I hope for one of the first two, which is why I 'choose' my words. Now yes, we would have hardships being united, but doesn’t every country. You said you take great interest in America, and yes they do have terrorism, but ever group with an idea does. You talk about assimilation, death, but there are many other ways to take down extremism to a minimum. We have the potential to protect all of arrancar-kind. At least consider the words I have said” Grand stood straight up and looked Rui in the eye the whole time, the meeting was coming to an end. Rui's personality and next words would decide which of the four paths he would choose. Unity and Alliance. Treaty and neutrality. Continue to run the rut and stay put on views. Or full scale war. |

| Rui looked at Helba. "Your loyalty was enough to try to destroy Jeff, a member of my house, when he threatened to defect. It's not yours I'm questioning. Others in your house, I am. I don't know if the previous leader, Hayato, managed to knock up a girl or not. He or she is certain to be a big player, and I have no idea if their father could have influenced them so. Nothing is certain, that is true. But I'm more worried about the big guys, the ones that aren't so weak." Rui looked back at Grand as he began to speak again. "An interesting quote. I like it. Although, why lower yourself when they can be so much more? Personalities notwithstanding. Everyone has the potential to be so much more than themselves. I would agree with that assessment. All out war isn't very appealing to me, and I'm sure it is the same with you. So I doubt this meeting will lead up to it. Unless you were to call me a certain nickname that I despise with a passion two times, in which case I will try to kill you with a calm fury the likes you have never seen before. I would say very unlikely to happen. An alliance, a true one, is equally unlikely because the extremists will stop at nothing to stop it. Which could escalate things. A treaty and nothing coming of this is more likely. I would prefer if something fruitful comes of this. Picking words often lead to broken promises, lies, and betrayal. My two thousand plus years have taught me this. I will consider them and talk it over with a meeting of my big players. You should consult yours and see where they stand as well. Let's see if something productive can come out of this...already it has proven more so than my last meeting with the last leader."Rui also stood, taking his sword from the table. He gave a curt nod, put his sword back on his back and turned to leave. He walked pass Takai and back through the doors he just came from. Back to where he was previously when he was called. And to think about the coming proposal and to see where his subordinates might stand... ~Exit Thread~ |
