Basic Information Name: Zai Abihime Age: 21 True Age: 259 Sex: Female Personality:Abihime often comes across as a loudmouth and self-absorbed, but she is simply confident (and acts like she is speaking for three people instead of herself). She likes what she likes and has a very strong opinion on it. She can be very judgmental but quick to change it when she sees good reason to. Even though she is very friendly (and obnoxiously loud) Abihime has a terrible temper, exploding in outrage at the smallest things like not sitting in a certain row in Shinigami Academy or not getting a Kidou right the first time. However, she is also the quickest to forgive when people apologise sincerely. Unfortunately, she is a daydreamer and that is why she has been whiling away the time, giggling through districts and proposing to anyone who she considers remotely good-looking. For some reason, Abihime is desperate to get married and have a child. She is the type to want a fairytale romance and considers that in her last life, she must have been a princess or at least a noble lady in a palace (or queen). Despite all this, she is actually rather funny, always optimistic, even in battle (until she loses her temper). She would love to be the hero in every situation, to get glory and become awesome, but she kind of wants it without trying very hard for it. Abihime dislikes moving too much because Hollow are rather unattractive and what motivates Abihime are pretty boys. Likes:Exploring: She loves looking at places and snooping around but also finding beauty in nature. It always leaves her breathless to find something new or amazing. Pranking others: As much fun as snooping around is, Abihime really loves a good prank. Especially considering herself the mastermind behind said prank. She would love to dye someone's hair bright pink with glitter and strives to get sneakier and better if only to get better at pranking. Pretty boys: Good looking boys are the biggest motivator in Abihime's life. She cannot help it, she literally screams when she sees one. Making friends: Abihime likes surrounding herself with people, it gives her reassurance and ensures that she isn't bored. Eating: Abihime loves food. Of course she does attempt to starve herself pretty... but she really enjoys cooked meals. Fears:Being lonely: She hates to be alone and makes sure she is surrounded by a lot of people. Sometimes, she even makes up imaginary friends just so that she knows she is not alone. This dependency on other people has left her quite unable to achieve her full potential in anything. Her biggest fear is that her zanpakuto will one day abandon her. Fire: Abihime is actually afraid of fire. It is not the heat that she is scared of or even the flames, she actually thinks the flames are rather beautiful... it's the smell of burning. She cannot stand the smell of burning and it makes her wretch. Getting too fat: Yes, that is one of her fears. Unfortunately it does happen because of her bad eating habits. She gains weight, loses weight, gains, loses. She believes her body is cursed by a hollow that makes her gain weight (like hollows have nothing better to do) and sometimes tends to starve herself which is excruciatingly hard for her because she likes to eat. Constantly. Character Appearance Height: 170 cm - taller in heels. D< Weight: 54 kg, but can go up or down by as much as ten kg in a month... "If you tell anyone you're dead!"Physical Traits:Abihime's ethnicity is definitely determined as non-caucasian but to pinpoint a single place where she could be from is hard to do. She has a medium complexion and long, dark hair, tinged with red because of dying it with henna. It is often in a thick, jaunty plait or a bun to the side of her head. Her hair has a side parting and sports a few wisps of hair left hanging free to frame her face ("I'm going for the romantic look."). Her eyes are wide, dark brown and almond shaped, often lined with kohl. Her face is unscarred but she has a beauty mark under her right ear and the corner of her left eye. The shinigami is full-figured but not as generously well-endowed as other women. She stands quite short but not exactly slim like Rukia because she has bigger shoulders. Her face is not too narrow or too round, it does have a bit of roundness to it though, but that's because she is always eating. People sometimes call her 'man-shoulders' just to make her annoyed. It works very well of course. And she always counteracts by saying she has womanly curves whenever she gains weight which happens sometimes if she eats too much and trains too little. "Pssh... I'll lose it in a week. I do have FOREVER to lose it anyway!"| Spoiler: | | | |
Clothing:
Abihime dresses in the usual shinigami uniform though she often likes to add splashes of colour either in her hair or a special undershirt. You can always be sure she is wearing jewelery though.
Despite being confident, she never wears skirts ("Excuse me? While I'm building hopping, I don't want a hollow to sneer at me for my choice of underwear!") and only wears the occasional, mumsie-type dresses if she has a day off.
Abihime is very sensitive to the cold so she will always stay warm.
Accessories: The girl will often have pens or something in the side of her hair or tucked behind her ear. Bangles, bracelets, earrings, necklaces... she enjoys sparkly and pretty things.
Fighting Style
General Fighting Style: Abihime's fighting style is vibrant and lively. Her style is very similar to an acrobat with ribbons. Her fighting style is not simply based on strength, but on successive combination attacks. It is a medium to long ranged fighting style, however she has to make sure that her Zanpakuto doesn't end up injuring her in the process. That is why she cannot let her enemies penetrate her defences. The optimum stance to fight would be three paces apart and no less, because maneuvering her large weapon from a short distance becomes a problem. Strengths: Abihime is a great close-combat fighter, an ideal Zanjutsu user. Her body is nimble, her mind is creative and although she acts stupid, she is resourceful. She fights like water in the sense that she adapts so spectacularly to her opponent. Abihime is agile and can use her sword whilst hanging upside down, that is how attuned to her blade she is. She is good at recognising most kido but cannot really memorise the incantations.
Weaknesses: Kido is not her strongest point. Abihime's love for memorising is next to nill unlike her love for talking. She often has to bully and cajole herself into learning incantations, and just learning them is not enough. Most often, she cannot stand long enough to finish the stupid incantation for the kido and they blow up in her face. Her shunpo leaves much to be desired. She's a scatterbrain, thinking of different things and although it gives her a uniqueness and a creative edge, it means that she lacks a lot of discipline and has often hurt herself or even others because of careless mistakes.
Zanpakuto & Kidou
Sealed Appearance: A slim jian-style katana by her waist tied in a sash. Spirit’s Name: Tachikomeru [Lit. To Shroud - a burial shroud] Spirit’s Appearance:
Tachikomeru's face is always hard to make out but she is certain that it is a male spirit. He's always in the distance though and his hair seems to blow even on a day that isn't windy. He always looks like he just survived drowning, coming from a river. In addition, he does not walk, but floats but you can never really see him moving, apart from the ribbon swirling in the background.
| Spoiler: | | | |
Spirit’s Personality:
Abihime has determined that Tachikomeru has split personality disorder or a twin that makes the same, dismal expression as him. She can sometimes get him to dart about on a good day, nodding and even showing a semblance of warmth, however most other times, he is gloomy and avoids her. But then again, he is known as the funeral shroud... the one that wraps the corpses so he wouldn't really be all that joyful.
Inner World: Tachikomeru always emerges out of a well. Abihime doesn't understand why this well is there because there is a huge river gushing all around the world with cute pebbles and everything. It seems like an idyllic place, but she is afraid to go all the way into the river, the current always goes terribly fast when she steps in.
Sometimes though, the river is dry and sandy and parched. The whole atmosphere, instead of being on of joy is grim and heavy and full of rain. Those times, Abihime does not like to stay for very long.
Kidou:
Bakudou
Bakudo #1 Sai ("Obstruction"); Calls forth bindings to immobilize the target's arms.
Hadou
>Hadou #1 Sho ("Thrust"); Pushes the target away from the caster with spirit energy. >Hadou #4 Byakurai ("White Lightning"); Fires a bolt of white lightning from the caster's finger, piercing the target. >Hadou #11 Tsuzuri Raiden ("Reading Lightning"); Electric current flows through any object the user touches and is able to lead electricity, damaging any target that is in contact with the object the current runs through
Shikai
Call Out Command: Wrap them up, Tachikomeru! Appearance: The appearance that her blade takes when the name is called forth is not a blade, but a ribbon! Well the green material flutters like it is cloth, however it is a metal so fine that it acts like a ribbon or cloth, fluttering in the wind.
| Spoiler: | | | |
Abilities: She can mould her weapon and it can morph into any sort of sheet that she desires. The main abilities of Tachikomeru are not exactly one of offence but mainly defence and evasion. What the ribbon does is distract the enemy from finding the true target as the ribbon can wind around, through and under objects and still be under the control of Abihime. Tachikomeru literally wraps up and around the enemy, binding it and can suffocate the enemy- however anyone at her level can break out of the chokehold. Tachikomeru's can act like a sieve as well, therefore projectiles and kidou can be blocked to some degree, it is a partitioning blade but can be easily overcome by high-level kidou. Boosts: Her speed is enhanced. But the main thing is that she can manipulate thread. Defend against kido.
Bankai
New Name: [What's your zanpakuto's new name? Ex: Tensa Zangetsu, Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, etc.] Appearance: [What does your bankai look like? Character appearance changes, weapon changes, etc.] Abilities: [What abilities does your character gain] Boosts: [Increases in your character's physical capabilities. Speed, Strength, Stamina, etc.]
Back Drop
Background:
Peasant girl; Despite her believing she was a queen in her former life, Abihime was far from it. She was born in a village with two lovely parents and four monstrous siblings. She learned early on in her life not to ask for very much because her parents could not afford it. Abihime had a twin brother, she always claimed she was the bossy baby that pushed out first and she was always bigger, faster and better than him. She always said she would go first before him whether it was in marriage or school achievements. However, he died first. Her life was not as idyllic as Abihime thinks it was. She was born in a constant war zone, her father and her twin as well as her younger brother died in the war. This loss affected her mother so greatly, she became gravely ill. Unable to afford medicine or have her mother taken anywhere, the woman died. Abihime told her little sister Alia, that mother died of a broken heart. Her little sister stopped speaking. She had no dreams, no desires and Abihime thought that Alia might die of a broken heart too, but she died of cholera because their water system had become contaminated. Abihime, once surrounded by her family died alone when a rocket set fire to her house.
Spirit girl; She stayed chained to that house for ages and ages. She wouldn't leave it, attempting to miserably piece it back together because it was all she had left. A boy she had liked in the village left a flower at the soil for her. She and him were supposed to get married when they had got enough money to leave this place. But she had died. Her face was burned and ugly anyway so Abihime doubted he would want to marry her now. It was only until a hollow was about to attack her that a shinigami came and told her of soul society and that she had to leave otherwise more and more hollow would come and attack this place. As if this country needed more enemies. She nodded and went to soul society. She didn't really fare much better. She had came from one war zone to another, but in this war zone, she was not tied to her family anymore. However, all her time, wandering around Rukongai, she was always missing something. It was not just her family... it was her twin. They had been together since before they were even born and now... she was all alone. Abihime made sure she was always surrounded by people and so when she did discover her spirit energy, she knew her next destination- the academy.
Shinigami girl; At the academy, she barely changed except that she found cleaner looking boys to drool over and got into more fights because she couldn't sit still long enough. Abihime wanted people to love her and she only found herself making more and more mistakes. Even though she did have numerous friends, Abihime ached for something... this wasn't fulfilled even by subduing her Zanpakuto. It was only when she learned the name of her Zanpakuto that she felt her ache begin to wane. It was like she had finally found the reason for her existence. She constantly searched for her twin, but Tachikomeru... who sounded like a running stream, constantly placated her. There were times when Tachikomeru would also lose patience, also attempt to hurt Abihime but that was really because she did lack discipline. She would start fights with people that were pedestals above her and in those instances, even when she called Tachikomeru, it wouldn't come out.
Abihime's greatest fear is that one day she will call Tachikomeru and there will be no answer ever.
Side Notes: Abihime has never found her twin or any of her family members in Soul Society. Abihime has been rejected a million times by a million boys. Abihime does not drink alcohol.
RP Sample:
"And so he said he'd rather camp out in a menos forest than marry me," she sighed dramatically, relaying her latest love exploit to her friend, Solbi.
Solbi couldn't really be bothered to look sympathetic because she had specifically told Abihime that the boy was not interested in her. He had taken one look at Abihime and had walked the other way.
"If you have the time to chase boys, shouldn't you work on controlling the moods of your zanpakuto or brush up on your kidou? Do you really think it impressed him when the spell made your eyebrows explode?" Her friend pointed out, guarding her rice bowl because Abihime, who had finished her own was now eyeing Solbi's lunch.
The brunette knew that from far away, people could only see one of her eyebrows because of that stupid spell. Psh, who knew Kami-Sama would get angry if she said Fuzuri Raiden instead of Tsuzuri... why did she always get mixed up with that?? That was a stupid incantation anyway!
"You're right... I've just got to face it. I will die a virgin... well, die again and still a virgin!! Gaaah... Kami-Sama, stop being cool up there and send a bishounen my way!! Is that too much to ask!?" She sobbed, making a face that was so disgustingly pitiful that Solbi dropped her guard.
Abihime's hand was as quick as lightning, pulling her bowl and practically devouring Solbi's lunch.
"Honestly... ABI! At this rate nobody will want you in their squad and you can't even heal or clean sewers so even that loser Fourth Division won't want you!! I, myself, am going to work for the exclusive Third Division with the super-hawt Taichou-"
"Hawt...Taichou?! We've got to get in and spy on them!! PLEASE!!! It's my dream to make a taichou fall in love with me!" Abihime begged, rice spitting out of her mouth and onto Solbi's face.
But all she could imagine was the hawt taichou, whispering 'you're beautiful' and whisking her away and Solbi with her big boobs was simply sobbing and her heart was bursting with jealousy.

| I really hate to say it, but please state Height and Weight. Although the comment on the weight did make me chuckle. Just say what it is on a good day when she isn't pigging out or starving herself.
Is the ability a reiatsu absorber type? Just that it needs to first draw blood before it'll activate? As in it absorbs the opponent's and adds to your own. Those abilities are very tentative. |

| Yes essentially you're right about the ability of her zanpakuto. I know it sounds like it has the potential to godmode, but I doubt at the skill she is at, it would cause anyone anything... for a captain level, it would feel like a leech sucking your blood... ¬_¬;; Just to keep things fair.
Also, I added that more strikes means that more reiatsu can be snatched away-- basically it treats the reiatsu in a person like a water bag. One strike, water leaks out and the zanpakuto uses it for itself because it catches the water. Two strikes... there are more holes, more water (reiatsu) for the zanpakuto to catch and hold e.t.c.
But just because you have more reiatsu, doesn't mean you can actually use it to your fullest potential. |

| It kind of does have the potential...I don't know. I'll have an admin or Rena or Kuri to check it. If they say it's okay, then I do to. But the opposite is also true. |

| I'm saying that the ability is a no go...first off I think we don't allow any type of "leeching" like powers in the form of reiatsu leeching...my second reasoning is this...even if the draining wouldn't affect a captain character that much due to their massive reiatsu capacity, lets say you're fighting someone on your level and connect just once with your shikai. They might already be a little bit drained because you had been fighting for a little bit, and now you're at a point where you're slowly draining them of their strength while powering up your own...that's putting someone in a situation where they can't recover, they're too far behind and if they get cut again, well, it's pretty much automatically lights out. ____________________________________ Selkie Nejaku, Captain Commander -- 0 Kin Ishikawa, Yukio fraccion -- |

| The ability as a whole is better. But can someone of your level manage to get out of it if the ribbons tangles them up and starts to choke them? That is where weapons like these might get in trouble. Why? You suffocate them, not only do you choke them, but you can also knock them out that way.
Riku, one of my characters, can entangle someone up with the chain on his shikai and electrocute them. However, while they will be taking damage, they can struggle and bust out before the electrocution stops. He can easily use the chain for suffocation as well, and with his immense strength, that is no problem. However, he needs to be right there, close to the opponent to do that. Which means the opponent will be in range to stab him or kick him or something to create the opportunity to escape.
With Nika's shikai, I'm pretty sure you can struggle out of it as well, as long as you are at about the same level. Or maybe I'm just paranoid......Just add that one sentence that a person close to her level can get out of it then I'll approve it. |
