Name: Suzuki Akihiko
Apparent Age: 17
True Age: 242
Sex: Male
Personality:
Akihiko is neither optimistic nor pessimistic, but instead realist. He is always rational, meaning, if asked whether a glass were half empty or half full, he would say it doesn’t matter as they mean the same thing. His obsessive rationalism means that, coupled with his impressive intellect, he gets bored impressively quickly with games like chess or poker, due to the fact that he tends to see ten to twenty moves ahead of his opponent—by which point he has probably already won.
Interestingly enough, the fact that he is so rational does not mean he is not imaginative. In fact, that is what makes him such an intimidating foe: the coupling of his impeccable logic and his good imagination. He is known to create bizarrely elaborate schemes that, for all their seemingly unnecessary complexity, very rarely fail.
For all of his cunning though, he is a fairly whimsical character. He revels in exchanging insults with his opponents in his life-long quest to find someone clever enough to match wits with him. Aside from his bantering outer persona, though, he keeps to himself, not really sharing true feelings with anybody or even displaying anything but good humor and confidence, in the form of his clever street-magician character he has adopted ever since he was a child.
Deep inside, he feels that he is a cruel and cowardly person. He does not form close bonds easily, and though at first glance he may appear courageous, he knows he only gets involved in situations he knows he can come out the better for. He just is clever enough to know how to come out on top in many more situations than most people.
Akihiko enjoys performing simple magic tricks in front of audiences, and is addicted to three things: microwave popcorn, books with mind-bendingly complex plots, and sour neon gummy worms. He is terrified that one day someone cleverer than him will reveal him as the cowardly con-artist he feels he is. He doesn’t really know how to talk to people when not putting on a show, thus every conversation with him tends to feel like an elaborate presentation. He also has a completely inexplicable phobia of stinging insects.
AppearanceHeight: Six feet, four inches
Weight: 144 lbs
Appearance:
Akihiko has long black hair—so long in fact, he almost looks like a girl (not quite, but almost). He has a thin face with a well-defined jawbone and pointed chin. His eyes are mostly green, but just around the pupil is a thin ring of blue. He always looks half asleep (or just bored) and tends to turn his head rather than move his eyes to look around. He has a pretty spindly body, but though his arms and legs are thin, his muscles are hard and well defined. He may not be terribly strong, but he is certainly quick and agile.
Apparel:
He is usually in his Shinigami robes, however, occasionally if he aims to impress, he wears a black pinstripe tux with tails, along with matching slacks and pointed shiny black shoes. Under the tux is a white dress shirt with ruffles on the collar. He also wears thin white gloves. In short, he dresses in a simple magician’s costume, though without a top hat, cane, or wand—he doesn’t want to look
too silly.
He always carries two decks of ordinary playing cards with him: one up his right sleeve and one on a chain around his neck. Each deck has the same intricate decorative cross pattern, but the one in his sleeve is red while the other one is blue. The purpose of these decks will be given under the “Powers” section.
He wears his Zanpakuto in simple leather scabbards on either side of his hip, Boukyaku, the simplest to wield, on his right because he is right handed, and Einen, the more complex one, on his left.
Fighting Style:
General fighting style:
Akihiko tends to hold back for the first half of a battle, using small amounts of power to evade or block oncoming attacks. He uses this time to analyze his opponent and create a scheme to take advantage of his opponent’s weaknesses. If he already has information about his opponent, he may skip analyzing them and actually come in with more elaborate Devices and setups. However, this is rare, and he can usually be counted on to use his agility to avoid attacks for the first part of a battle.
Strengths:
If Akihiko is given enough time, his plans are nearly infallible. Also, he is physically very capable of buying this time, seeing as his amazing speed allows him to dodge nearly all but the quickest of attacks. He is also very competent at kido, using this and his cards to lay traps, barriers, and slow enemies down. He calls his cards, kido, and a few other things, his “Devices”.
WeaknessesDuring his analyzing phase, Akihiko doesn’t use the full extent of his power, limiting him to basically dodging and batting swords away. This is when he can be trusted to be weakest. Also, he has very little physical strength, attempting to make up for it in agility and speed. His “Devices” tend to require that he spend time and effort preparing them, and don’t immediately activate, meaning he may waste time laying a Device that won’t go off for twenty minuets, at which point the battle may already be decided.
Zanpakuto/KidouSealed Appearance:
Akihiko’s Zampakuto is a Duel Zampakuto, that in sealed form look like two normal katanas, with black hilts and scabbards.
Spirit’s Name:
Einen no Boukyaku (Eternal Oblivion)
Individually:
The one on his right, Boukyaku (Oblivion)
The one on his left, Einen (Eternal)
Spirit’s Appearance:
Einen: He looks like a very old man. He has long, silver hair and a nearly floor-length beard. His skin is thin and wrinkled. The lines on his face show years of laughing, but also many furrowed brows. He wears half-moon glasses and barely moves at all. He wears a deep blue robe of a velvet-like material.
Boukyaku: A young boy. He has very short blond hair and large, inquisitive blue eyes. He looks about seven. He wears a blue tunic that perfectly matches Einen’s robe.
Spirit’s Personality:
Einen: He is nearly unendingly patient. However, this means that Akihiko must also be unendingly patient, as Einen talks at an unbearably slow pace. Einen is very wise but is very difficult to deal with due to how slowly he talks. Besides that, Einen is methodical, and, though he teaches Akihiko, he cares very little for Akihiko’s desires or even immediate or long term needs. Einen believes that things must be taught in a proper order and absolutely nothing can persuade him to teach techniques early. Despite this, he is very knowledgeable and wise.
Boukyaku: Boukyaku is almost the polar opposite of Einen. He is horribly impatient and can’t stand still for more that a few moments. He is very fickle and often randomly teaches techniques to Akihiko. That said, Boukyaku is still easier to deal with than Einen, and considerably more fun, as all his lessons tend to be put in the form of games. Appearing seven years old, he acts just like a child, asking numerous questions and often running randomly around Akihiko’s inner world. For all his immatureness, he is also very wise in his own way.
Inner World:
Akihiko’s inner world is a large theater. He usually appears in a neat and well-organized dressing room that is apparently his. In the middle of the room is a small oval-shaped table with one chair on one side and two on the other. If he leaves the dressing room, he is in a backstage. There are many other dressing rooms, but all but three others are locked. Based on the clothing in them, they appear to be the dressing rooms for Einen, Boukyaku, and Akihiko’s inner hollow.
Close to the actually stage, props for magic tricks begin showing up: a trick box to saw someone in half with, various trick top hats laying around, and quite a few different “death traps” for magicians to escape from. The stage is very well lit and has four sets of red curtains. The audience is people from his past, but they are really just figments of his imagination—if he tries to cut one, the sword passes through. They don’t even recognize he exists unless he is onstage.
There is a simple lobby with red carpeting and ornate gold plastering on the walls and ceiling. It is completely empty. There are a number of large doors, but none of them actually open, because, as both Einen and Boukyaku have explained to him, the walls of the theater are the walls of the world and there are really no doors there, just walls that look like doors, and even if there were doors, there’s nothing outside to exit to.
Kidou:
Akihiko accidentally created a custom kidou before entering the Gotei 13, however it should only be considered Bakudou number (approximately) 0.3. All it does is create a small burst of light from the hands of the user, blinding anyone watching for about half a second. (less than 1 post). This was created to help him with the conjuring tricks and slight of hand he would perform daily in Rukongai. Aside from that, he knows:
Bakudou: #1, #3, #8, and #29
Hadou #1, #11, and #31
ShikaiCall out command:
Namida-ten wāpu suru, (Warp to the point of tearing)
Appearance:
Boukyaku, when unsealed, bends and warps and turns a blood-like color.
Einen, when unsealed, begins to glow a deep blue and the hilt becomes nearly transparent.
Abilities:
Akihiko's Zampakutou give him a little control over space, allowing his Zampakutou to pass through solid objects. This doesn't work when there is a consciousness present to resist him, such as in other Zampakutou, Bounto dolls, or the bodies of other life forms. However, inanimate objects such as walls, boulders, or trees provide no protection from his Zampakutou when they are in Shikai form, as they simply pass right through them. The Zampakutou also allow him to use a few other abilities. Please note that these abilities apply to both his Zampakutou.
Torikkukādo (Trick Cards)This is where the playing cards come in. Though the complexity of the computations required makes it impossible for Akihiko to create actual wormholes in combat, he is capable of creating them ahead of time and linking them to objects. Akihiko has thus created 52 different wormholes and attached one end of each to a different card in the red deck in his sleeve. The other ends are attached to the corresponding cards in the blue deck.
Akihiko will throw a red card from his sleeve or lay it faceup on the ground. Since he keeps his decks in the same order, he then draws the corresponding blue card. As the red card passes close to his opponent, he then stabs the blue card. His blade passes through the wormhole and comes out of the red card stabbing the enemy.
There are some serious limitations to this though. Firstly, if Akihiko meets a quick enough opponent--a captain, for example--he is at a serious risk. His wormholes work both ways, meaning the captain could simply stab the card before he does, making the captain's Zampakutou come out of the blue deck, most likely stabbing Akihiko in the chest or the face.
Also, if Akihiko's deck is ever out of order, he could end up grabbing a blue card not corresponding to the red card he threw, but to one still unthrown in his sleeve. This would result in him stabbing himself in the wrist accidentally, disabling one arm, and effectively one Zampakutou, of which he needs both to make up for his lack of strength with.
The risk Akihiko is least worried about is his use limit. Though it is possible to pick up already thrown cards, Akihiko can't count on having that kind of time in the middle of a battle. Thus he effectively can only use each of his 52 pairs once.
Wāpuburēdo (Warp Blade)Though most spatial warping requires that he do complex computations, within the blade of his spatial Zampakutou he can, with a little extra power, randomly warp the particles of his blades at very high speeds. This is normally useless, however, when used right, the very small vibrations and warpings can heat up the air around the blade to extreme temperatures.
This heat is very short range though, and only the air in direct contact to the blades can be super-heated like this. The upside of this is that it makes his cuts much more effective, even without much physical strength behind them. It also makes it less effective for opponents on a much higher level to stop his blows with bare skin (you know, like Ulquiorra liked to do), as the heat will still be transmitted, though it isn't enough to do any real damage to an enemy of that caliber.
Wāpusuteppu (Warp Step)Though the name implies something similar to shunpo, this ability is a bit broader. Through his spatial manipulation, Akihiko can warp the space around him to allow him to move faster and be more agile. This does not bring him up to anywhere near shunpo speeds, however it gives him just enough agility to, say, dodge a bullet. However if it were two bullets in quick succession, he would have trouble. Three bullets would be nearly impossible. It also uses a bit of power constantly while he uses it.
Boosts:
Nearly none, except for the speed provided by his Warp Step ability.
Bankai (Not Yet Achived)New Name:
Funshitsu etaniti (Oblivious Eternity)
New Appearance:
Einen and Boukyaku have merged to create a spirit form of a young man with pure white hair and a blue velvet tunic. His face is unshaven and his jaw is narrow and well defined. One of his eyes is green while the other is blue. Their sword form is now a western-style hand-and-a-half longsword that has a transparent hilt and crossguard. The blade shines bright blue and is slightly wavy, as though it was heated and bent a little in either direction.
Abilities:
Torikkukādo (Trick Cards)These behave just the same as they did for his shikai, but now, if he gets really desperate, Akihiko can scatter the entire red deck on the ground or throw it all at once. If he does this, he can then stab the entire blue deck. When he does so, his wormholes duplicate the Zampakutou, creating a massive spatial loop. Now when he stabs the deck, a blade rises out of the all of the cards. This way if he threw the deck, the enemy has not one flying blade to dodge, but a cloud of them. If he scattered it across the ground, the opponent has not just a single blade rising out of the ground to avoid, but a forest of them.
Note that when I say "entire deck" I just mean the ones he hasn't thrown already.
Wāpuburēdo (Warp Blade)This doesn't change at all, except that the temperature rises from about 200 degrees Celsius to about 600 degrees. The temperature change just makes it more painful if an opponent gets cut or even just touches the blades.
Wāpusuteppu (Warp Step)Not much change here, either. It just makes him even faster. Maybe now on the level of two to two and a half times the speed of a normal human.
Boosts:
Like before, all this does is make him much faster. In this case though, it also gives him a large riatsu boost.
Inner Hollow (Not Yet Achived)Appearance:
Akihiko’s inner hollow is—much like Kurosaki Ichigo’s—just an inverted version of Akihiko.
Personality:
Unlike many inner hollows, Akihiko’s inner hollow is never frenzied, crazed, wild, or psychotic. The hollow is cruel and methodical, plotting to force Akihiko into despair at his own personal character flaws. He acts as a friend/confident to Akihiko, and as such
never went into frenzy when Akihiko first found the mask.
He knows that when Akihiko hears warnings about how evil inner hollows are he questions whether his hollow is very calm or he is very cruel. This is all part of his hollow (who calls himself Hanran)’s plan to force Akihiko into depression. He also subtly suggests that Akihiko’s thought process is as twisted and cruel as a hollow—in an attempt to make Akihiko despise himself.
One way Hanran is similar to Akihiko, though, is in his ability to cut away anything but his goal. Being a hollow, he would like to fly into a rage and kill everything when Akihiko puts on his mask, but he knows that is would completely destroy his careful planning.
Mask (Not Yet Achived)Appearance:

Like this, but white with a red tear running down the right side.
Abilities:
Akihiko's mask makes Akihiko faster still. It also gives him one other ability:
Kūkan āmā (Spatial Armor)This creates a small spatial discrepancy between the Akihiko's skin and the rest of the world. It turns blades away and makes it much harder to even get close to cutting Akihiko. To someone swinging a blade at him, it would seem like he was wearing a slippery foam armor a few inches off his skin.
It leaves no points uncovered, but it is not terribly hard to cut through. It just requires the opponent put more force into their blows and works consciously to keep their blade from slipping away from their target. It is much more effective against ranged attacks such as Kidou or Quincy bows. Since there is not nearly as much brute force behind them, the can be turned away much more easily.
Hollow Powers:
Cero, shot from between the thumb and forefinger of Akihiko's right hand.
Full Vizard Form (Not Yet Achived)Appearance:

Like this, but his tunic and hat are so pale they are nearly white and his hole is right at his heart.
Power Boosts:
After his transformation, Akihiko’s speed and agility shoot up. When in his full Vizard form, Akihiko can move at speed approaching five times as fast as normal humans. His Spatial Armor now is almost impossible to cut through without having your blade turned away.
Back DropBackground:
Human Childhood:
Akihiko was a genius, and by age seven had gone through both elementary and middle school. Even with the skipping, Akihiko was bored. Not about his studies, but his life in general. He lived in a small town in the Midwestern United States, and so to his mind, nothing interesting ever seemed to happen. He had no real peers, so was pretty lonely for the entirety of his life. Even though he was the smartest person in his hometown, he felt decidedly mediocre.
Until age eight, that is. When he was eight, his parents took him to Vegas to go to a convention there. While there he saw a magician’s act and was transfixed by it. Not by the tricks themselves, of course—he figured those out immediately—but by how cleverly they were performed. Cards would switch hands, people would be switched, and little balls would move from box to box without even him noticing until after the trick was done. And the magician did it with such confidence, cracking jokes to take the audiences’ attention from his sleight of hand. When he returned home, he began practicing with a deck of cards. Once he had mastered his first trick, he began to play the part of the magician, making wisecracks and being witty.
This proved to be a self-defense mechanism later. When he went into collage—at only thirteen—the other students were not too happy that he could understand the material that they themselves were having difficulty comprehending. He, however, would manage to avoid confrontations with his wit and magician’s cunning.
At age 15 he completed his bachelor’s degree in relativistic physics—a topic that would provide him with the mathematics to use his Zampakutou later. He immediately started his master’s degree in the same subject. Two years into it, however, two mafia members who, hearing about his quick mind, hoped to make some cash by recruiting him as a consultant approached him. The meeting didn’t go well, and to keep him quiet they attacked him. He managed to flee, but after that moment he was a marked man, and only two month later he was killed by a mob hitman.
Rukongai LifeWhen Akihiko was born again, it was to a very, very poor family. At a very young age he began to use the same magic tricks he had learned when he was alive to earn money for his family. Sometime in this period he accidentally created his custom Kidou—Conjurer’s Spark, as he calls it—to give allow him to perform more and more ridiculous sleights of hand, culminating in a failure of an attempt to perform a trick in which the entire audience is moved to a different building in the time it takes to rub their eyes.
Akihiko began to love performing while he was in Rukongai, and his audiences loved him to perform. At first he was just a street magician, however, as he became more and more well known, wealthy families began to fund him and he eventually had a theater of his own.
His tricks were so impressive the Shinigami began investigating him for use of forbidden techniques and ancient magics. Though they found quite easily that he was not using anything but the weakest Kidou ever devised, they did observe the power of his riatsu. Soon after the investigation was halted, a Captain came to invite him to join the Gotei 13.
Shinigami LifeAkihiko was hesitant at first, as he loved to perform, however his family encouraged him to join, and the deciding factor was when he was told he would learn Kidou, which to him would be the greatest tricks any magician could ever perform.
At first Akihiko was fascinated by the concept of a more mundane education. However, this quickly faded and he became even more bored with his training than he had been with his human education. In fact, he was the worst in his class in the Academy in everything but the theory classes. After a very long while he began to devise his own style of Zanjutsu using the dexterity and agility learned from his days of sleight-of-hand.
Kidou was at first hard for him, but then one of his instructors caught him using his Conjurer’s Spark and asked him about the custom Kidou. When Akihiko became aware that he already knew how to cast Kidou, he caught on much faster.
At first no squad would accept the apparently weak Shinigami just out of the Academy, however, on a routine training patrol, an Arrancar attacked his class. Nobody was killed, but before the instructor in charge could step in and help, Akihiko was hit and knocked out. He awoke in at the table in his dressing room in his Inner world. Across from him were the two spirits. With one voice they told him: “Hurry and find our name Akihiko. It’s here somewhere. You may search this theater, but you only have three hours. Hurry!”
Akihiko did search, but was lost until he met his inner hollow, who introduced himself as Hanran and acted as a friendly denizen of Akihiko’s mind and told Akihiko his Zampakutous’ names. It wasn’t until after he had awoken that Akihiko identified Hanran as his inner hollow, making himself a Vizard.
Despite this, he acted as if nothing had happened and avoided telling anyone that he was a Vizard. He was now much more powerful, and was put into the 10th Division. Only a few lower officers of the squad—people he considers close friends—know he is actually a Vizard, but he hasn’t had the need to use his mask yet. He hopes he can stay in the Gotei 13 even after he reveals himself as a Vizard, but just to be safe, he keeps it quiet.
The cake is a lie
RP Sample:
Akihiko grinned at the hollow. “If you wish to feed on these souls, you must first pass through me.” He bowed low, mockingly. When there was no response, he looked up from his ridiculous position at the lowest point in his bow. “Nothing to say to that? I suppose my charm has stunned you into silence.” In one smooth motion he both straightened up and threw a card from his sleeve. The hollow followed it with it’s eyes as it moved at it, not noticing as Akihiko slid a card from his pendant and, at the moment the red card was closest to the hollow’s face, plunged Boukyaku into the blue card. Before the hollow could react, a sword appeared from the red card, smashing the mask of the hollow. As the hollow reeled back and bellowed in pain, Akihiko launched himself forward and plunged Boukyaku into the chest of the hollow. It glowed and then flew apart in shining dust particles.Akihiko sheathed his Zampakutou and bowed elaborately in the direction of the vice-captain, who clapped sarcastically in response. Akihiko lifted his other Zampakutou, Einen, and displayed it proudly. “And without drawing my second Zampakutou!” He took another bow.I could write something longer if you want. And I know I added more than I had the post limit for, but I wasn't sure whether or not I should and I decided it was better safe than sorry.
